ITINERARY:

Day 1 – Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. Relax and enjoy a safari briefing as you prepare for your adventure starting the next morning.

Day 2 – Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, cross the Maasai Steppe to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s fourth largest and one of its most diverse parks. Iconic baobab trees dot the landscape while elephants, buffalos, giraffes, lions, leopards, oryx, dik-diks, and a variety of bird species roam freely. Keep an eye out—giant pythons are sometimes spotted in the trees!

We’ll explore bush tracks along the Tarangire River, spotting elephants at play and other wildlife in their natural habitat.

Day 3 – Lake Manyara National Park

Begin with an optional early morning game drive, then head to Lake Manyara National Park for game drives from mid-morning to sunset. Famous for tree-climbing lions and diverse wildlife, the park’s lush scenery immerses you in Africa’s natural beauty.

Enjoy zebras, wildebeests, bushbucks, dik-diks, guinea fowl, and flamingos at the lake. Lunch can be served at picnic sites or at the lodge before afternoon drives. Optional sunset drives are also available.

Day 4 – Lake Eyasi Bushmen Trail

Depart early for Lake Eyasi Village and meet the Hadzabe Bushmen. Witness their traditional way of life—living off wild fruits and hunted meat. You’ll also interact with the Tatoga tribe under the guidance of a local Tatoga guide.

Visit the onion plantations that supply the region and experience a short hunting expedition with the Hadzabe people using traditional bows and arrows. The Bushmen live in caves or temporary shelters, offering an authentic glimpse into ancient survival skills.

Day 5 – Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a morning cup of Tanzanian coffee before traveling northwest to the legendary Serengeti National Park (“Endless Plain” in Maasai). Famous for its wildlife diversity and spectacular migrations, your first Serengeti game drive is sure to impress.

Day 6 – Serengeti National Park

Optional dawn game drive allows you to see nocturnal animals retiring and diurnal species waking under the African sunrise. After breakfast, embark on a full-day safari with a packed lunch, exploring Serengeti’s endless plains.

Depending on the season, witness the Great Migration of over 1.5 million wildebeests with zebras and gazelles—the largest mass movement of animals on Earth. Serengeti is also home to lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffalos, elands, wild dogs, crocodiles, and countless bird species.

Day 7 – Ngorongoro Crater

Start with a sunrise game drive (06:30–12:00), followed by lunch and a scenic drive to Ngorongoro Crater, stopping at Olduvai Gorge, the “Cradle of Mankind.” Explore the museum and marvel at fossils and stone tools discovered by Drs. Louis and Mary Leakey.

Enjoy a game drive en-route to your accommodation.

Day 8 – Ngorongoro Crater & Arusha

Spend the morning exploring the crater floor, one of the densest wildlife areas in Africa. Witness the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, African buffalo, and black rhino—in their natural habitat. Enjoy a scenic boxed lunch before heading back to Arusha in the afternoon.

Day 9 – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward journey—whether continuing to Zanzibar or returning home.
