Three Days Safari Sample Itinerary

This 3-day safari is perfect for travelers who want a compact yet rewarding adventure that combines wildlife, landscapes, and cultural experiences. You’ll explore three very different ecosystems — the Maasai lands of West Kilimanjaro, the hidden wilderness of Mkomazi, and the varied landscapes of Arusha National Park — each offering something unique and unforgettable experiences

Day 1 – West Kilimanjaro

At the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro lies West Kilimanjaro, a remote, community-owned Wildlife Management Area offering an authentic and scenic safari experience in Maasai land. This off-the-beaten-path concession borders Amboseli National Park (Kenya) to the north, Arusha National Park and Mt. Meru to the southwest, and the towering Kilimanjaro to the east.

Here, Maasai herdsmen co-exist with wildlife, giving visitors a rare opportunity to experience both rich cultural encounters and breathtaking landscapes.

Day 2 – Mkomazi National Park

Mkomazi National Park is a semi-arid wilderness of acacia–commiphora bushland, riverine forests along the Umba River, and sweeping savannah plains. It is home to over 18 species of mammals, including the Big Five, as well as more than 450 bird species. This is a true hidden gem for safari enthusiasts seeking something unique and less crowded.

Day 3 – Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park is nestled on the foothills of Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest mountain and often called Africa’s most beautiful volcano.

Despite its smaller size, Arusha National Park is rich in wildlife, offering game drives, walking safaris, canoeing on the lakes, and even horseback riding.

For those looking to trek, Mount Meru provides an excellent high-altitude acclimatization climb before attempting Kilimanjaro.
